A few questions with Our Place host, Myf Warhurst.

Why is storytelling important to you?
Storytelling is how we share who we are and how we understand where we’ve come from and it’s also a way to understand different perspectives and gain a greater world view. It’s one of the most important tools we’ve got!

What overarching story are you looking to tell in Our Place?
I want to look at the designs of our everyday Australian life (and not the big ticket items, more the smaller things that we experience here that tell us about who we are) as a way to understand what is Australian Culture and where we go to from here.

Who do you want your podcast to reach.
Anyone who’s into learning, who’s into changing historical narratives, and wants to know thinkers and the makers are who make this place extremely unique.

Australia as a land and culture seems to have deep value for you. If you could snap your fingers and go anywhere in Australia, where would it be and why?
I’d go home, and that’s to the area known as Sunraysia, where I grew up. The desert landscape and the Murray and Darling Rivers haunt my dreams (in the best possible way), and it’s a place that has had a huge impact on the person I became.
